" You know that place between sleep and awake,
the place where you can still remember dreaming?
That's where i'll always love you, Peter Pan.
That's where i'll be waiting."
- Tinkerbell
touching yeah? wished someone said this to you? well, i found this quote by chance, and am super tempted to quote it... i was kinda inspired by Miss Tang's debrief: " Do you know why teachers chose to teach? It is because of their passion for each and every student."
yep. i totally agree. they help us get there, get to our dreams. and they inspired us to dream. to dare to dream. and dare to persue them. applaud them for their bravery, for choosing to educate the next generation, to pass on the power of dreams to the next generation.
the most important job in this world is not being a doctor, or a lawyer, or a principal, or a president, OR A PRIME MINISTER, but A TEACHER. y? because it is from their hands that come the future lawyers, doctors, presidents, prime ministers. dont u agree? it is because of them, that we are civilised. when we're small, we often overlook things, but we alwaeys go home at the end of the day, and tell our parents, " TEACHER DID THIS.... TEACHER SAID THIS..." we look up to them.
today, i would like to write a dedication to one of the greatest teacher i ever knew: MISS NG CHING ING.
miss ng, although i know that you will never see this, i jus want to let others know that u inspired me to achieve, to aim, and to reach.
in sec 1, the first day, you were there, smiling as if u saw an angel, when it was our rowdy class with almost no regards for rules. you were there, to talk to us, about anything under the sun.
when i cried, u asked me why. u listened to me talk, without interrupting, to let me finish. you see it from my point of view, and advise me, instead of forcing mi to accept the adult version of things. you made mi change, to accept that everyone's not perfect. you didnt solve my problems, but u made me see why they were there in the first place.
when i didnt know what to do, u were there. this time, you talked and i listened. you alwaes said that u are a zookeeper, cause our class seem to be very rowdy and noisy. but still, u talk to us with a smile. when u scold us, we do not resent, but we take it as a lesson. you take everything coming with a smile, never saying that u had no time for us even though u were SUPER BUSY.
when we had to do things for the class or for our CCA, u try ur best to help. u drive us around, never asking for anything except that we finish our jobs as best as we could. you taught 2/3 that we cannot change the world, but we can change ourselves. you taught us that if things dun work, try it again and not give up. you mde us better individuals, drawing on our strengths and strengthening our weaknesses.
you made me want to go to school every single day, just to attend your lesson. just to say hi and we love you, just to see you and your cool black outfits. (haha) even when i m sick, i rfuse to go home, cause i simply want to stay for MT lessons.
when i had a fever, you sat with me and gave mi panadols, and checked on me. you called me to inform mi about what's happening in class. you loved each and every one of us in 2/3, and u showed it very well.
you're gone for 2 months already, but we still missed you as badly as the first day when u're gone. every place in the school seem to have traces of you. walking past the library makes me remember our lessons, walking past 2/3 made mi remember the fun times we had in it. the carpark still seemed to have the shadows of your car, every wall seem to be echoing your name. just looking at the 2/3 class tee makes me wonder if you wear it still, now.
when you're gone, there seem to be something vital missing in JSS.
I MISS YOU. 2/3 MISSES YOU.
please... continue being a teacher. you were born to teach, to love every one like your own.
HAPPY TEACHER'S DAY. 2007. i wish you were here.
i would like to dedicate a song to you, WHEN YOU'RE GONE, BY AVRIL LAVINGE.
zookeeper, your animals miss you!
